surprised to know just how far Art Connections Gallery’s reach is. The diversity in the artwork
we show has always been a point of pride for us. We have different styles and different
mediums, artists who are just getting started as well as artist who show in some of the premier
galleries in Texas. While we love our homegrown artists, it is very interesting to note where
some of our other artists hail from.
We have artists that are from Florida and a few that are from California. There are some from
Colorado and St. Louis. We’ve even nabbed an artist from Maine. This range in perspective
truly creates the unique atmosphere that is showcased in our gallery. Some might think that an
art gallery such as Art Connections, being in the small town of Bastrop, would only specialize
in niche, southwestern art. We’re constantly striving to break the mold on what you would
expect art to look like in small-town Texas.
The reach we showcase here in the gallery also does a lot to further the “Connections” name.
My son is a photographer and art teacher in St. Louis and has connected me with the wonderful
St. Louis artists seen in our store. I’ve found artists at the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Some I’ve
found at the Park City Art Festival. Anytime I go out, I’m watching out for artists who have
things that I can’t find here.
In the art world they like to joke that it’s all about who you know, but at the Art Connections
Gallery we really take that to heart in a way. We believe in getting out there and constantly
finding new faces from different places that can bring something exciting and new to our store.
Connections play a huge role in what we do. From our relationships with our artists and their
vast array of charities to our relationship with our customers and passers-by on a First Friday
We’re constantly looking to make connections with those who love art and give them a truly
unique place to experience it’s majesty right here in Bastrop.
